Daarover schreef ik eerder al het artikel <a href=\"https:\/\/wendyvanmieghem.com\/nl\/formeel-en-informeel-leiderschap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Formeel en informeel leiderschap<\/strong><\/a>. Als leider wil je mensen door veranderprocessen heen leiden. Het is dan nodig om rekening te (leren) houden met de cultuur van de groep. Met de formele (uitgesproken) en informele (voelbare) regels van hoe mensen in deze groep met elkaar omgaan.<\/p>\n<p>In elke cultuur zijn een bovenstroom en een onderstroom te onderscheiden. Aan de buitenkant en boven de oppervlakte zie je bij groepen mensen vaak terug hoe mensen <em>willen<\/em> zijn en wat ze nastreven of zichzelf en anderen willen doen geloven. Hier wordt vaak veel tijd en moeite ingestoken, met zorgvuldige formuleringen, knappe marketingcampagnes en antwoorden die worden gedreven door sociale wenselijkheid en illusies tegen beter weten in. Het wordt ook wel de <strong>formele cultuur<\/strong> van een bedrijf of organisatie genoemd. Overal waar groepen mensen zijn, kun je een bovenstroom en onderstroom waarnemen in contact en communicatie. Dus niet alleen bij bedrijven en organisaties, maar ook in gezinnen, klassen en vriendengroepen. Wat je ambieert of nastreeft, hoe je ten dienste van anderen wilt staan en hoe je dit denkt te realiseren, is wat in de bovenstroom duidelijk wordt gemaakt. Het is de belofte die je doet aan anderen over wat jij kan betekenen of bieden. Het is het nagenoeg perfecte, succesvolle plaatje waar je zelf en anderen in wilt laten geloven, bijvoorbeeld tijdens een sollicitatiegesprek, op jullie website of in een verkoopbrochure.<\/p>\n<p>Boven de oppervlakte is voelbaar vanuit welke kwaliteiten jij en jullie willen uitreiken, contact willen maken en verbindingen willen leggen. Het maakt je <strong>potentie<\/strong> duidelijk: wat je voelt dat je anderen kunt bieden en nastreeft om te realiseren. In de bovenstroom richt je je vaak op een einddoel of op een uiteindelijk resultaat. Op papier, in gedachten of wellicht ook al deels in werkelijkheid heb je wellicht je doel al behaald. In <strong>de onderstroom<\/strong> vind je alle aspecten van menselijkheid die (on)bewust een grote invloed hebben op hoe mensen met zichzelf en anderen omgaan. Onder de oppervlakte zijn alle pijnpunten en kwetsbaarheden voelbaar. Het is waar zichtbaar wordt waar een gebrek aan zelfzorg, contact en communicatie aanwezig zijn, zowel op individueel als op groepsniveau, voorbij sociale wenselijkheid en goede intenties.<\/p>\n<p>Dit is ook de laag waar je conflicten kunt waarnemen, tussen mensen en in mensen zelf. Wanneer denken, voelen en doen bij een individu niet op \u00e9\u00e9n lijn liggen (wat heel normaal is), dan kun je in de onderstroom inconsequenties terugvinden tussen wat iemand zegt, werkelijk voelt en hoe diegene vervolgens handelt.
